About ALFA ROMEO Car Covers
Alfa Romeo was officially founded in Milan, Italy on June 24, 1910 and quickly moved into building racecars. It has developed a stellar reputation as a premium racecar builder and most drivers know about Alfa Romeo cars. The company began life as part of the French company SAID, or Societa Anonima Italiana Darracq in 1906. The Italian cars did not sell well and a new company was founded, named the Anonima Lombarda Fabbrica Automobili or A.L.F.A.
Nicola Romeo owned A.L.F.A. in 1915 and the company built military equipment for the Allies during World War One. The company name would become Alfa Romeo in 1920, and its first branded model was the Torpedo 20-30 HP. Alfa would win the inaugural Grand Prix in 1925 and the world would finally know about Alfa Romeo cars.
Alfa Romeo struggled financially throughout the Great Depression until the 1950's. The company designed the incredible Alfa Romeo Twin Cam Engine in 1954 and it remained in production for the next forty years.
