About JEEP SUV Covers
A likely thought when one hears the word "Jeep" is a vehicle used in rough terrain, however, this off-road vehicle actually came about in response to a request from the U.S. Army in 1940. Realizing that a lightweight vehicle that could traverse most terrains, the Army gave specifications for it to America's car manufacturers, requesting a model in just seven weeks. Karl Probst, an engineer, took on the assignment for the Bantam Car Company, providing a hand-built prototype the Army accepted. Originally called the Bantam BRC, the history of the Jeep">Jeep began.
Because Bantam was bankrupt at the time - Probst worked without salary - the Army gave his design to two other car manufacturers: Willys Overland and Ford. After changes were made to it, contracted with both; they produced close to one million Jeeps in World War Two. Willy's registered the Jeep trademark in 1950. Due to demand, after the war, civilian Jeep were made.
Jeep are a staple for most individuals living in rural areas and are favored by companies, especially those transporting heavy equipment in areas still awaiting modern thoroughfares.
